Kinuko Granville, wife of Ronald B. Granville, mother to Franklyn (Frank) B. Granville and Elizabeth (Betty) K. Granville-James, passed away peacefully in her sleep, in the early morning on March 30th, 2026. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Moreno Valley, California, surrounded by her loving family.
Kinuko is from Okinawa and was also a child survivor of war during 1945. Her courage surviving such loss of family and tragedy during the war at the young age of 8 years old, has earned her much respect from her family and friends.
Kinuko was known for her endlessly giving nature, amongst many other endearing traits. She was known to grow a garden full of healthy flowers, vegetables and fruit trees, with such ease that we often said she had two green hands vs thumbs. Everything she grew, she shared abundantly with family, friends and neighbors! She taught her family to love nature and to treat animals with love and kindness. And did we mention she was an outstanding cook!
Kinuko was also very well known in the karaoke community, as having an extraordinarily beautiful singing voice that won her many fans around the US and Japan. But most of all, Kinuko was known for her level of deep love and compassion for God and her family. She loved with all her heart and soul, right up to her last days. Kinuko will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald, son Frank, daughter Betty, son-in-law Tony, grandson Michael, grandson Isaiah, granddaughter Alisha, Alisha's husband Toby, Isaiah's wife Claudia, great granddaughter Juliet, sister Chieko, brother Bokushun, niece Naomi and many other loving relatives. A viewing for family and friends will be held for Kinuko Granville at Miller-Jones mortuary at 23618 Sunnymead Blvd Moreno Valley, CA 92553, April 6th, 2026 from 10:00am - 12:00pm, the family will receive friends during this time. Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome, but not necessary.
