Lillian Tom Wu passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 24, 2025 at the age of 95 in Moreno Valley, California near her daughter Natalie. She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses: Steven Wong Wu (Ellen), Randall Wu (Elvira), Stephanie Wu Gittell (Kenneth), Joanna Wu Holmes (Richard), Natalie Wu Moy (Jing), 7 grandchildren (Brendan, Sean, Alissa, Daniel, Kelsey, Christina, and Anthony), and 3 great grandchildren. Lillian Wu was born in Manhattan, New York and married Shang in 1948. Initially they lived at 18 Mott St next door to family restaurant (China Lane) and near the family business (Wing Woh Lung). As the business flourished and the family expanded, they moved to Flushing, Queens.
She enjoyed participating/attending activities at the Long Island Chinese Center, Social gatherings at Fire Island with family/friends, Lido Beach parties with the Chinese Circle, picnics at local parks with sport activities, monthly mahjong/poker parties, and neighborhood parties. The theme was always based on enjoying each other's company, remaining close, and FOOD. Lillian was the matriarch of our family, loved socializing with others, and was a great cook. Lillian lived in Flushing, home for 47 years and 26 years in Moreno Valley CA around the corner from Natalie.
In Lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Lillian Wu/Natalie Moy's name to Coalition for Compassionate Care of California.
