Nancy Ann El Fattal, born on August 12, 1940, passed away on January 21, 2026, at the age of 85. She was a resident of Moreno Valley, California, and previously Rialto and Rowland Heights. In Rialto, Nancy was an active member of Sunrise Church where she initiated a Deaf Ministry Program and served on or led multiple ministry activities. Nancy’s career spanned many years as a nationally certified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter in the education and legal sectors. Nancy was born to deaf parents in Dallas, Texas where she spent her early years as a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA) with her loving parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Throughout her lifetime, she always maintained a fond connection to her family there and to all things Texan, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Nancy was an avid reader, seamstress, and proponent of education and women’s ministry.
Nancy was called home by her heavenly Father on January 21, 2026 at 85 years of age, after serving the Lord and ministering to others for 78 years during her time on earth, starting at seven years old when she accepted Christ. Over the years, Nancy directly and indirectly uplifted countless individuals and families across generations, from immediate and extended family members, strangers, adults, children, believers, non-believers, and people of varying backgrounds and faiths.
Nancy passed away peacefully at home as she wished, with loving family near and having been able to say goodbye in person and on telephone calls with family and friends during her last days. Nancy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Reyad, the love of her earthly life; three of five sons, Michael, David, and Jamil; two daughters-in-love, Pamala and Dawnette; 10 grandchildren, Jenna, Micaela, Brooklynn, Levi, Elizabeth, Jacob, Katelynn, Julianne, Benjamin, and Corina; five great-grandchildren, Raiden, Zoey, Micah, Emmy, and Aston; and innumerable family and friends across the globe. She was preceded in death by two sons, Karim and Rashid; her brother, Wesley; and her parents, Virgil Homer and Eugenia.
Nancy experienced many joys during her lifetime and was always thankful for God’s blessings. Of course, Nancy also encountered her share of life’s difficulties and challenges. In alignment with her spiritual relationship, throughout the varied challenges she faced including many of a serious and considerable nature, she did not ask God “why?” or question God as others might in the face of extreme difficulties, because she always knew that He had placed her in those circumstances as He had throughout her life to serve a greater purpose, including ministering to others, demonstrating and revealing the power of prayer to others, and praying for those who crossed paths with her.
Nancy Ann spent her lifetime in Christ’s service to others, praying for all she met, those she never met but was asked to pray for, and in prayer for all of mankind. She was a devoted daughter, granddaughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to all.
Nancy has been a loving foundational cornerstone for three new generations of her immediate and extended family, with additional generations to certainly benefit from her legacy of love, prayer, and ministry that is naturally being carried forward as a family heritage.
In Nancy’s own words, she regularly shared the following sentiments: “When I leave this earth, it’s okay for you to be sad for a teeny, tiny bit, but don’t stay sad for long. Instead, be happy for me and celebrate that I am finally in heaven having a grand reunion with all who arrived before me. And, importantly, always remember that we will see each again, soon enough, with our hearts full of joy and love when we meet on the other side of the river.”
Nancy was and is much loved by all who knew her. She will remain forever in our hearts.
