Soon after graduating from Nogales High School, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Jessica. He joined the United States Marines Corps and proudly served for 4 years. During this time, they gave birth to their first born child Selena Marie, and started their journey together as parents.
While still serving as a Marine, Sal attended United Technical Institute to begin his career in computer science where he received his certifications. At the end of his military service, he joined the Pechanga family starting in Food & Beverage until a position opened in Information Technology where he loyally worked for almost 20 years.
Sal and Jessica went on to have a total of four loving and beautiful children, Selena Marie, Alexis Victoria, Salvador Jr., and Zoey Rose. They were his pride and joy. The love they shared overflowed onto their children and poured out into their home. They raised their children in Moreno Valley CA. There was nothing more important to Sal than to provide and protect his wife and children.
Sal spent his entire life at the service of his family. He was not only a great husband, son, and brother but he was the Greatest Father to his children and to many of his nephews and nieces.
Sal always gathered the family to make plans for all major holidays, celebrations, and most of all birthdays. All who knew him, knew that he spared no expense to host elaborate themed parties for all occasions. He was always thinking of others. Making people laugh. Scaring people (especially Lisa). Helping a friend in need or just being there to listen.
Sal loved to sing Karaoke and would set up his karaoke equipment during family celebrations for all to enjoy. June 1st, of this year, he started Karaoke Empire and began hosting karaoke at Gra Pow Restaurant on Thursday nights. All in attendance would be privileged to hear him perform Creep, Hero, or Tennessee Whiskey. He sang beautifully and at that moment he was the star, and it was just him singing the song in his heart.
Selena Marie summed him up best, “He was a dork.” Sal was strong-willed and stubborn at times, but he had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, brave, strong, and full of knowledge gained from all his life experiences. He will be remembered for the love he shared with each member of his family and friends.
A great soul never dies, Sal lives on in the hearts of his wife, Jessica, his children, Selena, Alexis, Salvador Jr., and Zoey his Parents Alex and Sally, Sisters, Gina and Yvonne and brother Alex Jr. His Godchildren Joanna and Adrian, and many other family members who love him dearly.
