Tyrus Lamont Lindsey Jr. was born at Centinela Hospital on January 2, 1986, to Patricia Benton and Tyrus L. Lindsey Sr. who preceded him in death. He was 4 lbs 6oz, 18 inches and was born alongside his twin brother.
Tyrus has always been a little warrior, he was born with a right club foot and had surgery before he could even walk. Later in life, he was given the nickname "Little Leg". Tyrus attended school in LAUSD; Raymond Ave Elementary, Horace Mann Middle School, Westchester High School, and finally Crenshaw High School where he graduated Class of 2004. He was a spunky kid with lots of energy who loved wrestling, football, and basketball. He played those sports at Van Ness Park along with his brother Trumaine and his cousins. After he graduated High School, Tyrus attended Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. He then went to broadcasting school. He always wanted to be a Sportscaster. Tyrus was at journalist level when it came to sports conversations. He loved his Dallas Cowboys; after a loss he would not answer his phone for days.
Also, his love for the Lakers was unmatched. Tyrus moved to Arizona in 2016. He worked for Wells Fargo Bank for 5 years. He also worked for Express Facility and Independant Solar. This was his last place of Employment before his passing.
He will be missed dearly by family, friends, and many loved ones that he left an immense impact and lasting impression from personality, laughter, and many "isms" that were uniquely "Tyrus".
He never shied away from how he felt and how much he loved you. He had his fears, wept proudly, and put his heart and trust in the Lord, with whom he knew very well. Tyrus began to have heart problems in the Summer of 2023. His passing came as a shock to us all.
We love you Tyrus! Always the life of the party, you will be in our hearts forever, and your legacy will be the many memories we have with you. Tyrus leaves behind his loving mother, Patricia Benton, his twin brother Trumaine Lindsey, his baby sister Cherylynn Benton, brother Johnathan Lindsey, 1 nephew Noah Irving, and 1 niece Milani Goodridge with a host of relatives and friends.
