Charles W Gray Sr.

Charles W. Gray, Sr. transitioned peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 77 surrounded by his family at his residence. Born on May 8, 1949, Charles lived in Berwick and Patterson, Louisiana and was a native of Gibson, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Church of Christ 1105 Railroad Avenue Morgan City, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife 53 years, Lavone M. Gray of Patterson, Louisiana; five sons, Julius (LynnDell) Maze of Youngsville, Louisiana, Keith (Tyane) Gray of Slidell, Louisiana, Jason (Tanishia) Gray of Carencro, Louisiana, Ryan (Crystal) Gray of Mesquite, Nevada, and Charles Gray, Jr. of Broussard, Louisiana; two daughters, Mary (Matthew) Scott of Lafayette, Louisiana and Dionne (Dwayne) Green of Powder Spring, Georgia; his brother, Royal (Sadie) Gray, Jr. of Thibodaux, Louisiana; a sister, Carolyn Ann Burdis of Little Rock, Arkansas; his aunt, Eveline McGuire of Gray, Louisiana; three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Royal Gray, Sr. and Bernice Williams Gray; his brother, Thomas Gray; a sister, Carrie Jean Beasley; and a great grandson, Kamden Gray.
