I’m so saddened by the loss of our precious Elaine. She was one of the sweetest and the friendliest ladles I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. My fondest memory of Elaine was when I was a little girl attending Hattie A. Watts school. The school was having one of their many show stopping programs/plays (I forget what we called them back then) that were held in the “gym.” Elaine sang a trio with two other girls. The song was DO LORD, OH DO LORD, OH DO REMEMBER ME. They cemented my love for singing that day because they sang so beautifully, and I’d never heard such beautiful harmony up close.  I’ve admired her ever since. She was a phenomenal woman with a beautiful smile that surely will be missed.  I’ll be praying for her family.

We are heartbroken to hear of your mother and wife’s passing. May the Lord guide you through the next weeks, months and years. Her loving spirit will endure in your hearts forever.

Mrs. Vining was such a gentle, loving teacher who set high expectations and inspired her second grade students at Berwick Elementary. I will always treasure her Berenstain Bears read-alouds and Friday afternoons with Reading Rainbow. She was the kind of teacher who made learning joyful and meaningful, and her example was one of the reasons I chose to become a teacher myself. Her influence continues to live on through me and so many others who were blessed to be in her class.

To the Vinning family. You have my deepest condolences and prayers.  Mrs. Vinning was my second grade teacher at Berwick Elementary.  She was my favorite teacher.  She really took time with her students.  And if you didn't understand something.  She took the time to teach it to you until you understood it. She was a sweetheart.  She even taught
oldest daughter.  Everytime I  saw her, she never forgotten me. I loved her. Heven has a beautiful angel.

Elaine ‘Laney’ was such a go getter, a helper and server, she loved and cared about so many.  I remember being on a conference call with her and Sue.  What a blessing. She was a comforter and loved remembering everyone’s birthdays (and ages).  She took my daughter in during Katrina. She was admired for her determination and confidence.  She was kind and a great cook. She was tidy and loved her sons.  And was so expectant of her grandsons whom she loved.  She may have been in the middle as I am but she was sure footed brave and faithful.  Thankful that I had her as my cousin and blessed by her example and fortitude. No doubt she is busy praising Jesus and enjoying eternal life from the very beginning! She will be forever remembered and held dear in my heart!
