Idela G. Brashear

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Mt. Era Baptist Church 406 Lawrence Street Morgan City, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her two daughters, Suzette Elaine Brashear of Youngsville, Louisiana and Mary Priscilla Pool of Morgan City, Louisiana; two brothers, Burnell Gray, Jr. of San Francisco, California and Dwayne Gray of Gray, Louisiana; her three sisters, Sheila Gray of Morgan City, Louisiana; Hazel Morris of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Gladys Marie (Raymond Ruffin, Sr.) Ruffin of Morgan City, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends.

Idela was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Brashear; her daughters, Amanda Brashear, Ora Lee Brashear, and Gwendolyn Brashear-Brown; two sons, Ronald Brashear and Alton Brashear; her father, Burnell Gray, Sr.; mother, Gladys Clark Gray; two sisters, Marlene Jenkins and Mary-Esther Baytop; two brothers, Daniel Gray and Rudolph Gray; a grand-daughter, Leah Owens; and three grandsons, Alton Castille, Fred Owens, and Edward Robertson.
