Mary Theresa Brown was born in Morgan City, Louisiana on December 24, 1941, to the late Edward Bowles and Maetta Brown. Mary was baptized at an early age and would always share her love for God with others from all over the world.
Mary, known to her family and friends as “Lil Mama” had a way of making sure her family was top priority in praying for them, loving them and that they were well fed with love and food. She never wanted to see her family without.
Mary was a faithful member of her church, Free Ministries Family Worship Center International in Morgan City, Louisiana, under the leadership of the late Apostle Brian and Apostle Monica Lewis. She sat under the teaching of her pastor; Bishop-Elect Ka’Jah Lewis until God called her home. Mary was the first member of the church and was called Mother of the House. She was ordained Pastor Mary Brown and was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. Pastor Mary was the epitome of being loyal, dedicated and committed to her loving church and church family.
On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 5:00 PM Mary was told “job well done, my child”, and she was peacefully received by her Heavenly Father and entered her eternal resting place, in the arms of Jesus Christ her Savior.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Morning Glory Ministries 1323 Railroad Avenue Morgan City, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories to her one son, Ronald James Brown of Morgan, City, Louisiana; daughter in love, Gail Granger of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Beatrice Cross of Morgan City, Louisiana, one brother, Erskin Andrews of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two granddaughters, Simone Bartley of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Ronnel Jones of Houston, Texas; two great grandchildren, Lathan Bartley and Jessica Winthrop of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two great, great grandchildren, Royality and Davante Winthrop of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and one aunt, Ruby Hebert of Morgan City, Louisiana, along with a host of cousins, family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by, one son, Ledell Tucker, Jr., and her parents, Edward Bowles and Maetta Brown.
