Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home 715 Sixth Street Morgan City, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery in Patterson, Louisiana.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her four children, Gerald Allen of Baldwin, Louisiana, Alphonse (Carla) Chaney, Jr. of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Kazaria Williams of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Annette Hammond of Cibolo, Texas; her siblings, Thomas Allen of New Orleans, Louisiana, Sandra MaKay of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Myrtle Ward and Diana Allen, both of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Linda Allen of New Orleans, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; along with a host of relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Junious Johnson and Mary Louise Allen; husband, James Wright; her brothers, Marshall Nathaniel Daggs, Jr. , Larry Allen, David Allen, and Frankie Daggs; and her sister, Brenda Allen.
