Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Good Hope Baptist Church 908 Washington Street Patterson, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery in Patterson, Louisiana.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his significant other, Sonja Chatman of Lafayette, Louisiana; his son, Robert Dugar, Jr. of Patterson, Louisiana; seven daughters, Teresa R. Dugar, Shawn Denise (Leroy) Gant, Ivy G. Dugar, Rekeisha (Kreig) Triggs, Tamika Dugar, all of Patterson, Louisiana, Kelsey (Jermaine) Jones of Youngsville, Louisiana, Kersten Chatman of Lafayette, Louisiana; four brothers, Richard Dugar of Marlin, Texas, Marvin (Claudette) Dugar, Gregory (Pamela) Dugar, Sr., William Dugar, all of Patterson, Louisiana; five sisters, Geraldine (George) Clark of Berwick, Louisiana, Juanita Griffin, Augustine Tina Ruffin, Paulette Boulenger, and Debra (Billy) Washington, all of Patterson, Louisiana; twenty one grandchildren, forty one great grandchildren; along with a host of relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ivory and Hilda Dugar; his daughter, Crystal A. Dugar; his brothers, Raymond Dugar, Sr., Ivory Dugar, Jr., Leonard Dugar, Sr.; sisters, Mary L. Jennings and Lillie Mae Williams; and his grandchildren, Ivory Dugar, Sharday Dugar, and Derrick Dugar.
