Troy O'Neil O'Brien

He was a native son of Morgan City, Louisiana, and a longtime resident of Tucson, Arizona. He was baptized at an early age at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church by Rev. C. F. Smith.

Troy had a love for football, with his favorite football teams being the LSU Tigers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home 715 Sixth Street Morgan City, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Maxie O’Brien Jr. (Linda) of Verdunville, Louisiana; his mother, Pervy Ruffin of Lafayette, Louisiana; two sisters, Arla Nicholas (Donald) of Morgan City, Louisiana, and Leah Hunt of Columbus, Georgia; three brothers, Laron Ruffin of Lafayette, Louisiana; Curry O’Brien (Shaun) of Apopka, Florida; and Chad O’Brien (Brittany) of Verdunville, Louisiana; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Troy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Amanda Ruffin, and paternal grandparents, Maxie Sr. and Genevieve O’Brien.
