

Mrs. Alice Kanipe Jackson, 67, of Morganton, went to Heaven to celebrate Christmas with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, December 24, 2012. Born March 20, 1945, in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Dan Kanipe and Belle Conley Kanipe. Mrs. Jackson was a faithful member of the Willow Tree AME Church, Morganton, where she served on the Stewardess Board #2, the Kitchen Committee and in the Missionary Society.
A loving mother, wife and sister, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Edward Jackson, of the home;
A daughter, Allison Jackson, of Morganton;
A son, Chad Edward Jackson and wife, Michelle, of Morganton;
Three grandchildren, Nicholas Gilbert and Jaylene Gilbert, both of Morganton and Tyler Jackson, of Hillsville, VA;
Three sisters, Eloise Corpening and husband, Jimmy, of Morganton,
Jana Caldwell and husband, Dan, of Morganton and
Gladys Kanipe, of Morganton;
A host of nieces, nephews and friends will also cherish her memory.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Jackson will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Willow Tree AME Church with the Reverend Rupert Ferguson Officiating. Interment will follow at the Willow Tree AME Church Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson will lie in state one hour prior to the Funeral Services at the Church. Those desiring to make memorials in Mrs. Jackson’s memory may do so to the Willow Tree AME Church Building Fund.
