

On Thursday, December 16, 2010 Mrs. Annette Avery Moore , 72, of Watermill Rd. received a call from her savior to stop the work that she loved so dearly and began to enjoy all the things that was promised her as a reward. Her death ended at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.
Born July 9, 1938 in Burke County where she worked and retired from Southern Devices.
She was a member of Willow Tree AME Church and served on the Stewardess Board #2, Inspirational Choir, Missionary Society, Willing Workers, Community Prayer Team of St. James Holiness Church, Burke County Prayer Band and a volunteer for Community Deeds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Napoleon Avery Sr. and Robbie Rutherford Avery and a sister, Nannie Mae Avery.
Survivors left to cherish her godly memories are her husband of 50 yrs., Thomas W. Moore of the home; a daughter, Rev. Deborah A. Caldwell and husband Randall of Morganton; four sons, Gregory Avery, Leroy Moore of the home, Terry Moore and Ronald Moore of Hickory, NC; two brothers, James L. Avery and wife Leola and Napoleon Avery Jr.; a step-brother, Walter Kanipes; two sisters, Emeline E. Avery and Mary A. Mathews all of Morganton, NC; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Moore will be Monday, December 20th, 2 PM at Willow Tree AME with Reverend Rupert Ferguson, Reverend Willis Camp, Reverend Dr. H.S. Williams and Reverend Wayne Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, December 20th at 1:30 PM at Willow Tree AME. Burial will follow at church cemetery.
