Barbara Stone, age 86, of the Grace Ridge Retirement Community, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Travis Daniel Calloway and Mary Renno Calloway born January 28, 1926 in Washington, DC. Barbara was of the Catholic Faith, and was an avid dog lover. She had lived in Hawaii for many years and was always eager to travel and go shopping.
Along with her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Stone, and a special friend, Wanda Carter.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Mark Schellschmidt of Morganton; a granddaughter, Adele Messier of Jackson, CA; special friends, Robert and Marion Messier of Jackson, CA, Margaret Beaver, Terri Carter, Mark and Lori Henry, Wesley and Alison Edwards, all of Morganton, and Levi Henry of Glen Alpine.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Chapel at Grace Ridge with Rev. Mike Thompson officiating.
