Betty Sue Beavers

Betty "Bernice" Sue Green Beavers, age 83, of Morganton and formally Murphy, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 12, 2020. She was born the daughter of the late Elbert Green and Dossie Robinson Green on Christmas Day 1936 in Murphy, NC.

Bernice was a loving, caring and creative person who enjoyed help others. She was a longtime member of the Ivy Log Baptist Church in Blairsville, GA. Bernice was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Beavers; a brother, Charles Earl Green; and two sisters, Barbara Green and Joyce Jones.

Those left behind to cherish Bernice's memory include her daughter, Melissa Ledbetter and her husband Michael of Morganton; a grandson, Clark Paige of Hickory; and two sisters, Brenda Kincaid and Sandra Ware, both of Murphy. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Murphy. If attending, please wear a face mask and remember to social distance.

Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton has the honor of serving the family.

I am sorry for your loss. I worked many years with Bernice. I was mischievous and she called my baby monester all the time. Bernice, Neil and I had some good times together.
