Betty Lou Cowan

She was born on April 8, 1940 to the late Ada Bremer Hanlon and Holley Hanlon.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her five siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory is her husband, John Howard Cowan; daughters, Tammy Williams (Denny) of Morganton NC and Jonda Lauri (Bill) of McCormicK SC; son, Christopher Cowan (Dawn) of Chattanooga TN; brother, Ralph Hanlon (Marlene) of Wellsburg WV; grandchildren, DJ Williams (Heather), Ryan Williams, Jonathan Williams, LeighAnn Lauri, Chad Lauri, Zachary Cowan, Maggie Cowan, Molly Cowan, and Jack Cowan; great grandchildren, Jordan Williams, Caedmon Williams, and Lyndie Williams.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures and especially loved traveling to new places, tending to her garden, and spending time with her church family at Grace Chapel Baptist Church in Kingwood West Virginia. Her adventurous spirit and love for nature brought beauty and happiness to all who knew her.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026.

The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local hospice in her memory.
