I remember Mrs. Sinden practically every day of my life. What I learned about English, grammar, punctuation, word meanings and constructions, and being a good, productive, intelligent, and educated person, I use everyday of my life. I have an M. A. in English which was a breeze for me because of Mrs. Sinden. I have supplemented my income by proof-reading and teaching English, and the quality of the sermons I write every week as a pastor are testaments to her teaching.

God bless you, family. She was truly a jewel and this world was a better place for her having lived in it. My life, too, was richer because of her influence.

I had Mrs. Sinden in 9th grade at Salem Junior High School. At the time I thought that she didn’t like me. But the truth of the matter was she was pushing me to get the best education possible. She wanted her students to reach beyond the stars as their goal in life. She was a strict teacher. At the same time she was a loving teacher.
I will miss her spunkiness, she was always full of energy. I really enjoyed talking to her at the Feed and Seed store I worked at part time.
I will miss her!!!
RIP until we meet again!

MRS Sinden was, like many others have posted, my English teacher at Salem Jr High. But to me she was so much more. She was without a doubt tough, but it was tough love. She was a mentor, visionary that demanded you plan for your future in education and get the best education you could. She was a person who strives for perfection and demanded the same for those around me. I am nor ever was much on being taught English, even though I learned so much of it from her, mostly against my will lol. BUT, I learned more than that from MRS Sinden. I learned how to be a better person and always give more than you take. The world, especially Burke county and the folks that were fortunate enough to know her , are better people and places because of her.
We should all strive to leave a legacy like she has.

Ms. Since was a wonderful woman. She was one of the toughest, yet best teachers when I attended Freedom High school. I send my sincere condolences to the family. May God watch over your family and be with you as you seek understanding in her passing.

Mrs. Sinden was hands down my favorite teacher. She taught us all so much at Salem Jr High. She believed in us & our very young minds as she lead us to reach,
Grow & understand the importance of education. She was a great classroom coach. I will always remember her smile 😃
