Mr. Brent Stephen Hardy

He was born June 11, 1957 in Burke County to the late George Hardy and Cleo McKesson Hardy.

Brent was the biggest giver and had a silly sense of humor. He was married to his loving wife, Thelma S. Hardy for 35 years. Brent was called to serve as Jesus appointed him. Job well done. God has you in Heaven, but we have you in our hearts. You will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Thressa I. Caldwell and Tracy L. Caldwell; and two sisters, Iola Hardy and Gloria Hardy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mrs. Thelma S. Hardy of the home; sons, Brent Stephen Wilkerson (Suni Bumgarner) of Hickory, and Broshell Caldwell III of Glen Alpine; daughters, Tiffany Y. Caldwell of Charlotte, and Shane Conley (Harold) of Morganton; brothers, C.J.Hardy (Peggy) of Granite Falls, MN, and George N. Hardy (Frances) of Morganton; sister, Catherine B. Hardy of Glen Alpine; and sister-in-law, Margaret Wilkins of Sandy Mush.

Mr. Hardy is also survived by his grandchildren: Whitney Jenkins, Kenneth Rutherford, Brenton Wilkerson, Jaxsen Wilkerson, Tray Lamar Rutherford, Marlem “Mickey” Rutherford, Jasmine Caldwell, Jason R. Wiberg, Christopher Caldwell, Broshell Caldwell IV, Ashana Caldwell, Aveion Mumma, Kylee Wilkerson, Erica Wilkerson, and Chandler Esteque; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Home Going service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2022 at Kirksey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tommy Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
