Carl Brown McNeill

Carl Brown McNeill, age 88, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 12, 2018. He was born the son of the late Lock McNeill and Eleanor Howard McNeill on Tuesday, October 15, 1929 in Pocahontas, WV.

Carl was a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church and had served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He was known as a hardworking man who always provided for his family. Carl was never in a bad mood and had a kind heart. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Carl will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Glenna McNeill, two sisters and three brothers.

Those left behind to cherish Carl’s memory include two sons, Lock H. McNeill (Anne) of Jacksonville, FL and Bradley D. McNeill (Betty) of Morganton; a daughter, Nancy M. Murphy (Jeff) of Hudson; a brother, Stanley McNeill (Pat) of Buckeye, WV; six grandchildren, Heather Ojeda, Brentley McNeill, Jamey McNeill (Molly), Brianna Powell (Ben), Merritt Hall (TJ) and Josh Murphy; and five great grandchildren, Blase, Brody, Elijah, Ellie and Keegan. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Bible Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
