Charles Howard Abee

Charles "Howard" Abee, age 75, of Connelly Springs, beloved husband of Linda Kay (Lowman) Abee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2021.

Howard was born the son of the late John Abee and Ada Brittain Abee on Thursday, August 23, 1945 in Burke County. He was a member of Bible Gospel Baptist Church and was retired from Hickory Hill Furniture. Howard served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a loving husband, father brother and friend. Charles will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, Howard is preceded in death by three siblings, Leroy Abee, Troy Abee and Vernie Lowman.

Those left behind to cherish Howard's memory include his wife of 55 years, Linda Kay Lowman Abee; two sons, Dwayne and Justin Abee; and four siblings, Robert Abee, Leonard Abee, Earlene Newton and Norma Cline. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the family has requested private services. They want to thank everyone for their kindness, love and understanding.

Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton has the honor of serving the family.

~I had the greatest dad that a son could ever hope to have n then some; I can still see him, hear him n picture him everywhere I look; I know where my dad is-"~Gloryland~"!!! He just beat me there to it!!! I'll see you soon again dad cuz, "Life is but a vapor" and "Oh death, where art they sting", says The Holy Bible; My dad went way far above n beyond for me;;; Tremendously more than ne parent could have, or should have done~ Thx to all those who were there to comfort My Mother n My Son!! Charles was a good neighbor, friend, brother-in-law and fellow member of Bible Gospel Church where he served as deacon for many years.

I will definitely miss my Uncle Howard. I spent many days on the lake fishing with him and my dad. Those are such good memories. I always had a good time with him. I didn’t want the day of fishing to end.
