Charles Lawrence McNeil

Charles was born in Celo, North Carolina on July 30, 1934 to the late John Avery McNeill and Abbie Shuford McNeill.

In 1952 Lawrence married his high school sweetheart Lailah Barrier. Lailah passed away in 2017. He is also preceded in death by his brother Claude McNeill.

Charles worked in the furniture industry starting with Drexel Furniture in Marion. He eventually went to work for an industrial coatings company where he worked with many furniture plants in Virginia and North Carolina.

Charles liked staying busy. He enjoyed working in his yard and being outside.

Those left to cherish his memory is his son, Charles “Chuck” McNeil (and his wife, Kathy), grandson Shawn McNeil, great grandson Logan McNeil and brother James McNeill.

A graveside service for Charles will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at McDowell Memorial Park, 327 Memorial Park Rd, Marion, NC 28752.
