Charles married Margaret Ellen Beam on October 3rd, 1959, and is survived by his wife. The couple have five surviving children: Barbara Jean Durham, Charles Richard, Angela Lee Moody, Abraham William, and David Adam. Charles was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Lee and granddaughter, Chasity Landers Abernethy. He is also survived by twelve other grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren (with one ready to be born.)
Charles has been a member of Morganton First Assembly of God for forty years, and has a profound faith in Jesus. He has served as a trustee, Sunday-School teacher, and served twenty-five years as a Royal Ranger commander. He had a passion for the Bible and for prayer.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Morganton's First Assembly of God Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
