Elizabeth Boone Boone Pittman

Elizabeth Boone Pittman, age 82, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2016 surrounded by her family and in the comfort of her home. Elizabeth was born the daughter of the late Talmadge Boone and Virgie Grindstaff Boone on October 1, 1933 in Burnsville, NC.

Elizabeth was an active member of Southside Baptist Church and loved serving her Lord on the food committee. She lived a spirit filled and blessed life. Until 2014, she enjoyed going to Curves in Morganton. Elizabeth was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, David Anderson Pittman; five brothers, Burns, Ralph, Frank, Dwight and Hulan Boone; and 5 sisters, Ruth Boone, Theresa Boone, Claudia Deaton, Martha Mae Boone and Gearline Boone.

Those left behind to cherish Elizabeth’s memory include three daughters, Patty Justice and her husband, Randy, Donna Ledford and her husband, Richard and Kathy Adkins, all of Morganton; two brothers, Brown Boone of Old Fort and Kenneth Boone of Micaville; two sisters, Joyce McLaughlin of Forest City and Sonya Byrd of Spruce Pine; five grandchildren, David Clark, Joshua Ledford and his fiancé, Sarah Ford, Derek Justice and his wife, Laura, Casey Bannerman and her husband, Tyler and Heather Ledford; and four great grandchildren, Keegan Clark, Jacob Ledford, Anderson Clark and Lyle Ledford. She is also survived by numerous Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 2, 2016 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home with Pastor Lawrence Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be: David Clark, Joshua Ledford, Derek Justice, Tyler Bannerman, Alden Clark and Michael Clark.

The family would like to thank Melissa Morse, PA-C, Dr. Christopher McDonald and Dr. William Hathaway for their kindness and excellent care of Elizabeth.

The family suggests memorials be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690 or Southside Baptist Church, 121 Herron St., Morganton, NC 28655.
