Elsie Smith Pittman

Elsie Smith Pittman, 81, went to be with the Lord on Sunday August 31, 2014 in Valdese. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Kirksey Funeral Home, 406 Lenoir Rd. Morganton. Burial will follow at Grandview Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home.

Elsie was born on November 25, 1932 in Rutherford County to Sam and Mollie Frady Conner. She lived in Burke County for most of her life.

Elsie was a member of Laurel Haven Baptist Church in Morganton. She loved music and before her illness enjoyed dancing.

Elsie is survived by her children, Dorothy McKinney and Husband Bill of Lenoir, Joyce Heavner and husband Carroll of Morganton, Larry Smith and wife Teresa of Lawndale and Harlan Smith and significant other Blanche of Morganton and her niece Roselie Stimpson of Morganton; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands, George H. Smith and Rickey Pittman; Grandson Timothy Lee Stamey; 1 brother and 4 sisters. Condolences for the family may be left at www.kirkseymorganton.com.
