Gerald Marvin Lane (Jerry), age 94, of Morganton, North Carolina passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Grace Ridge Retirement Community. Mr. Lane was born June 12, 1929 in Rochester, NY the son of the late Morris and Rose (Cook) Labovitz.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Lane.
Mr. Lane was a proud veteran of the United States Army and trained soldiers during the Korean War. After his military service he was a teacher and school administrator in Rochester, NY. He obtained his Masters degree in Education from Syracuse University. Jerry was an avid bridge player, spoke multiple languages and loved crossword puzzles. He was a very kind and grateful individual, loved by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister Marcia Dunsker and his children, Melissa Williams of Coconut Creek, FL Richard Lane of Clarion, PA and Steven Carpenter of Morganton, NC.
