He was born to the late Gilbert Edward Stanton. Sr. and Marie Weaver Stanton on February 16, 1942 in Washington, DC.
Gilbert served his county honorably in the U.S. Navy and as a police officer in Colorado.
Gilbert was the faithful husband to Anita Carroll Stanton for over 57 years; a caring father of three; a loving grandfather of 10; and an unforgettable great grandfather of 11. Gilbert will be cherished forever.
A memorial service will military honors will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 16, 20121 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home.
