Mrs. Hilda Delores Clarke Bailey

She was born on November 18, 1949 in Caldwell County to the late Herbert H. Clarke and Nell Verlene Clarke.

Mrs. Bailey was a lifelong caregiver and nurturer with a friendly spirit who gave the best hugs. Everyone she met could not help but love her. She was a hard worker and never left a job unfinished. Cooking was one of her passions and she loved to watch cooking shows and dote on her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Allen Lee Bailey of Lenoir; son, William “Nathan” West of Morganton; brother, Steve Clark and wife Sylvia of Caldwell County; daughter-in-law, Kelly West of Valdese; grandchildren, Corban and Lily West; a special mother-in-law, Euniv “Cookie” Jawgiel; and a host of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Bailey will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Hartland Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., prior to the service.
