House of Rutherford County. She was born on February 26, 1934 in Elkin NC, the daughter of
William and Addie Jackson. She had 7 siblings and grew up on a tobacco farm in rural NC.
Soon after graduating high school, Ima met her first husband, Ralph Littlefield, and followed him
to Maine in 1954. There, she raised her family and worked at Prudential Insurance for a period
of time before she found her calling to care for those in need, both as a in-home health aid and
certified nurses assistant at Greenwood Nursing Home. She was a very caring individual and
always went above and beyond to make those in her care feel like family. Making homes in
Maine, Florida and most recently, her beloved North Carolina, she enjoyed gardening, attending
church where she served as church secretary, going to yard sales, volunteering at hospice and
last but certainly not least, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They
were her pride and joy, and always put a smile on her face and twinkle in her eye.
Ima was predeceased by her husband, Robert Burbank, three of her brothers, Johnny Jackson,
Alex Jackson and Harold Jackson, two sisters, Pauline Eller and Ruby Knight.
She is survived by her sister Helen Frye and brother Charles (Bud) Jackson, her three children, Julie Bell and husband Michael of Mill Springs NC, Randy Littlefield of Sparta NC, and Chris Littlefield and
wife Michelle of Sanford ME, her grandchildren, Ryan Bell, Ashley Bell, Kristy Lemay and
husband Robert, Jessica Littlefield, Taylor Langevin and husband Josh, and Sydney Littlefield
as well as her eleven great-grandchildren, Mason, Karis, Jenna, Corey, Scott, Josh, Madison,
Kyle, Alex, Ali and Lexi, and three great-great grandchildren.
There will be a small family gathering to celebrate her life in both North Carolina and Maine. In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ima to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills,
