James Walter Beck

Born in Burke County, North Carolina on January 22, 1941; he was the youngest son of the late James Loy Beck and Alta Mae Beck.

James retired from Broughton hospital. He enjoyed many things such as making bird houses, cars, country music, and he loved his cats and dogs. Him and Dottie had many friends at the music halls that they went to. Dottie was his angel, she loved and cared for him always. Mostly putting dad's needs above her own. Dr. Charles Stanley was his favorite preacher, and enjoyed listening to him often.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randy James Beck (passed away at birth); brothers, Marvin Leroy Beck and Jerry Dean Beck; and niece, Sharon Beck.

He is survived by his wife, Delilah Cannon; daughter, Jamie Beck; son, Doyle Beck (Wife: Karin); Delilah's sons, Kent and Shane; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The receiving of friends and family will take place at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton on Thursday November 6, 2025 from 12pm to 1pm. A graveside service will follow at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 3394 Pea Ridge Road in Morganton at 1:30pm with Reverend Keith Rose officiating.
