James Crowe

James Crowe, age 80 of Morganton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April1, 2019 at his residence. James was born the son of the late Dolson Crowe and Cora Butler Crowe on August 10, 1938 in Madison County, NC.

James loved serving God. He was a long time member of Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. James enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. James will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Martin Crowe; three brothers, Charles, Noah and Edward Crowe; and a sister, Evelyn Suttles.

Those left behind to cherish James’s memory include two sons, Michael Crowe and his wife Corina of Round Rock, TX and Steve Crowe and his wife Cynthia of Morganton; three daughters, Diane Roberts of Moravian Falls, Patricia Robinson and her husband Clifford of Vale and Pamela Bumgarner and her husband Lee of Valdese; two brothers, Cornelius Crowe and his wife Rae of Chesterfield and Boyce Crowe and his wife Kathy of Morganton; ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church in Lenoir with the Rev. Wally Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
