Jennie Ree Bost

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles J. Bost; her son, Joseph Ray Wood; her parents, Jesse and Stella Poteat; and several siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Roger Keith Wood, David Brian Wood (wife, Debbie), and Stella Wood Brewer (husband, Rev. Steven); her sisters, Joyce Hilmer, and Pearl Deaton; her grandchildren, Craig, Zach, Brandon, Ashlie, Tamara (Lynn), Michael (Candice), and Logan; several great-grandchildren, Joey, Andy, Blake, Olivia, Mollie, Adrienne, Sydney, Cassidy, and Abigail; along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Jennie was a very active woman with multiple interests including bowling, fishing, quilting, playing cards, writing cards, baking, and praying for others. She was the queen of cornhole at Grace Ridge and a former North Carolina State horseshoe champion. Above all, her greatest desire was for others to love Jesus as she did.

The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton from 4:00PM to 6:00 PM.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Bethel Methodist Church of Dry Ponds in Morganton with interment following in Bethel Methodist Church of Dry Ponds Cemetery.
