Jessie Ada Lowman Huffman

She was born the daughter of the late Laban Lowman and Zora Heffner Lowman on July 3, 1927 in Burke County. Jessie was a lifelong member of Walkers Chapel Baptist Church where she was baptized in 1949.

She truly enjoyed spending her time working in the yard, cooking and canning. Jessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, Jessie is preceded in death by her husband, Plez Huffman, of 33 years; and numerous brother and sisters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include two sons, Allen Huffman and his wife Teresa, of Hildebran; McKinley Huffman and his wife Marilyn, of Morganton; four daughters, Brenda Lail and her husband Wayne, of Icard; Geneva Massey and her husband Doug, of Hildebran; Marita King of Icard; Sharon Parker and her husband Buck , of Florida; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny McNeilly officiating. Interment will follow at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
