Jewel Saulman

She was born on June 12, 1934 to the late Uriel and Minnie Denny.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Saulman Sr.; sons, Ted Saulman Jr, and Doug; siblings, Carolyn Benfield, Nancy, Tom, Ed, and David Denny.

Jewel lived up to her name, she was truly a treasure to her family and friends. She was a caretaker to many children at the Salem Elementary After School Program where she served for many years and was awarded "Teacher of the year". Jewel was a faithful member of Burkemont Baptist Church where she served in the preschool and nursery departments for over forty years. Jewel loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus, his church and was active as long as she was able. She loved her family and took great delight in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Jewel is survived by her husband, Roger Toney; granddaughters, Holly Saulman and Becky Wood (Justin); great grandchildren, Tyler, Trenton, Stacy, Landon and Stella; a dear sister-in-law, Evelyn Freeman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will occur Friday, July 25, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Burkemont Baptist Church, 4668 Burkemont Rd, Morganton, North Carolina. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. An interment will follow the service on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Forest Hill Cemetery, Morganton, North Carolina.
