He was born April 26, 1935 in Burke County to the late John Raleigh and Wilma Crisp Woods.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lavitha Wynell Woods.
Survivors include his sons Joel W. Woods, Robert Dale, and Teddy Woods all of Morganton; daughters Jennie Woods and Sabrina Woods, both of Morganton; a brother Wayne Woods; and sisters Peggy Woods, Nancy Wilson, Dovie Harding and Lauren Woods; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral Home. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park
