He is preceded in death by his parents, James Richard Ratliff and Lois Zella Wheeler Ratliff; brothers, Jim Ratliff Jr., Charles Ratliff, and George Ratliff; sisters, Wilma and Juanita.
Those left to cherish his memory is his son, John Davis Ratliff Jr.; daughters, Jennifer Ratliff Ornitz and Jessica Ratliff DuBois (husband, Joshua Stephen DuBois); grandchildren, Kaitlyn Mosteller, Madalyn Ornitz, Brandon, Alyta, Donovyn, Ella, Anthony DuBois, Austin DuBois, Brandon DuBois, Clarissa DuBois, Donivan DuBois.
John was a wonderful man and never met a stranger. He will be missed.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at 3 pm at Riverside Baptist Church, 516 NC 126 Morganton, NC 28655 with Pastor Steven Boyles officiating.
