Jonnie Belle Gilbert

She was born on September 25, 1950 to the late Johnny Smith and the late Harriet Ball Holland in Buncombe County, North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Tallent.

Jonnie was free spirited and loved by everyone and she loved everyone and God.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son, Eric Tallent (wife, Teresa); daughter, Cindy Tallent (fiance, Ronnie Price); daughter, Robin Tallent Backus (husband, Terrence Backus); sisters, Ilene McDaniels, Marcia Bollinger, Cathy Duckworth, Jean Fleming; grandchildren, Casey Foster, John Rector, Brandy Rector, Aaron Cox, Tyler Tallent, Steven Tallent, Megan Soza, Trenton McPherson, and Diamond Tallent; numerous great grandchildren.

A 1:00pm graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Nowling Chapel Cemetery at 5061 US-64, Morganton, NC 28655.
