In Margaret's early life she was eager to learn in school and had dreams of one day joining the United States Air Force to become a Nurse. Although her dreams were deferred for a number of years, Margaret never gave up and finally achieved her nursing degree in the year 1976. Her nursing career spanned over 25 years.
In December 1961, Margaret married James Aaron Deck, and later had two sons James, Jr. and Michael. Margaret and James enjoyed nearly 60 years of life together before James passed away in January 2020. Margaret was a great wife and mother who always made their house a home. She later lavished the same care and love on her many grandchildren.
Margaret was an excellent cook with a specialty in southern style comfort dishes, and everyone she served raved about her meals. She was an avid reader of biographies and novels, enjoyed working crossword puzzles that could boggle the mind and watching her favorite baseball teams play. One thing Margaret really enjoyed was just listening to nature.
Margaret always thought of others before she thought of herself. Her loving, caring spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents and husband Margaret was preceded in death by her two sisters; Ola Tate, and Barbara Jean Rose.
Those left to cherish Margaret's greatest memories are her two sons; James Aaron Deck, Jr., (Virginia) of Rutherfordton, NC, and Michael Anthony Deck (Georgetta) of Forest City, NC, grandchildren; Demetrius Deck, Lauren Bolds Deck, Charmaine Wilson, Jadren Tillman, Ani Deck, and Trazvan Deck, great grandchildren; Aniya Deck, two brothers; Butch Tate (Sarah), and Bob Tate (Margaret), four sisters; Mary Carpenter (Pastor Tommy), Mamie Tate (Gerald Fant), Faye Wright, Deborah Thomas (Paul), and a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
