Katherine was born the daughter of the late Barney Rector and Glennie Hunter Rector on October 12, 1936 in McDowell County. She was a member of Shinning Light Baptist Church. Katherine was known for being an avid shopper and a great cook. Kat was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, Katherine is preceded in death by her husband, Forest Parker; a son, Michael Parker; three brothers, Fred, Joe and Claude Rector; and two sisters, Ruby Proctor and Judy Woody.
Those left behind to cherish Katherine's memory include several nieces, nephews, a special great nephew, Daniel Rector, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Castle Officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
