Mary Isabell Sherman

Mary Isabell Sherman, 73, of Hendersonville went to be with her Lord, Sunday August 17,2025, at Pardee Hospital. She has joined her two sons Jeffery Dean and Jody Dean Sherman, whom she loved, cherished and missed every day. She went every day keeping her sons close to her heart and making sure they lived on through memories and stories that she shared both through laughter and tears.

In addition to her sons, she was preceded in death by her parents, Addison Leon Cantrell and Rosa Lee Cagle, several sisters Phyllis Beddingfield, Sylvia Tabor, and Rosa Marshburn and one brother Weldon Cantrell.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 55 years, JD Sherman and daughter Martha Jones (Chris). Her grandchildren Franklin Laughter (Brooke), Tamara Laughter, Colbey Jones and Britny Walker, all of Hendersonville. Her great grandchildren Christopher, Alyssa, and Aria Walker, Payton Laughter, Jody Jenny, and William Sanders all of Hendersonville and Mason Jones of Bakersville, NC. She also leaves behind two sisters Willamina LaBounty and Sharon Cagle of Hendersonville and three brothers Gary Cantrell, Troy Cantrell and Joseph Cagle all of Hendersonville.

Mary loved animals and helping others. Whether she was a housekeeper at a nursing facility or a CNA at one she always went out of her way to make sure that the people she was around knew that if they were nobody else near them to show care, that they knew they had her and she had plenty of love and caring ways to share with them. Her love and nurturing did not stop at places she worked but extended to anyone she thought needed her help. Whether it was to help someone with their children, chores, housework, or just to listen, she loved taking care of people. For her, life was about helping those around her until her illness made it to where she was no longer able to do that. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
