Mrs. Mary "Dolly" Phillips Whisnant

She was born February 27, 1922 in Burke County to the late Cameron and Mary Elizabeth Benfield Phillips.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ned C. Whisnant; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church; she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sons Phillip Whisnant and his late wife Linda Joyce; and Steven Whisnant and wife Patricia all of Morganton; a brother Charles Phillips; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Zion Baptist Church from 11:30 AM to 1:00PM.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Zion Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Reverend Dr. Steve Parker and Reverend Keith Rose.

Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Zion Baptist Church 3396 Pea Ridge Road, Morganton, NC 28655
