Mattie “Ruhama” Dale, 88 died Sunday, October 4, 2020 peacefully at her home in Morganton, NC. Ruhama was born in Burke County on June 8, 1932 to William Edwin Brown and Emma Belle Johnson Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, J.B. Brown and sister, Ednita Canipe. She was also preceded in death by her son, Devon Dale.

Surviving are her daughters, Patricia “Pat” Tallent and husband, Larry and Stephanie Dale and husband, Jeff all of Morganton. She had 6 grandchildren, Holly Anderson (Stacy) of Kings Mountain, NC, Mitchell Tallent of Morganton, NC, Kara Hosmer (Sean) of Cypress, Texas, Brittany Dale of Hickory, NC, Ashley Dale, Morganton , NC and Whitney Dale of Morganton, NC. She had 4 great-grandchildren, Madison, Simone, Kaleb, and Madeleine. She also had 1 great- great grandchild, Tyllan.

Ruhama retired from Shadowline, Inc. after 35 years of service and rejoined the work force after retirement at Walmart for over 20 years. She fully retired at the age of 86. She loved working and being with people. She will be remembered and missed by many family and friends.

At this time no service is planned. Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton, NC is assisting the family.

Such a sweet precious lady. She was beautiful inside/out. Ruhama loved her family above all! I worked with her many years and we became good friends. She was a very hard worker and enjoyed working at Walmart.
She is in her heavenly home rejoicing today. God bless the family in these difficult days.
