Michael Lee Grant, 54, of Old Fort, NC, passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Statesville, NC.

Mr. Grant was born in McDowell County, NC, on April 2, 1963, to the late Howard Lee Grant and Ruby Mae Benefield Grant Hill.

Mr. Grant was a Christian man who attended Old Fort First Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver for the past 18 years, and was a proud single father who worked hard to provide for his family. He had a positive, friendly and easy going personality. He loved music, playing guitar and singing and his favorite band was AC/DC. Mr. Grant also loved playing basketball and watching his favorite team the Chicago Bulls. He loved country living, dogs and his most favorite treat was ice cream.

Most importantly, he loved and adored his children and grandchildren. He was always showing his friends photos of them and saying how proud he was of them.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Mark Grant and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Snow.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Naomi Lee Turcotte Grant, of Old Fort; a son, Phillip Michael ( Rebecca Smith) Grant, of Old Fort, daughters, Fairest (Jacob Trull) Grant, of Marion, Ivy ( Ricardo) Torres, of Asheville, Jolee Joy Grant and Bailey Grant, both of Old Fort; the mother of his first four children, Cristina Carver of Old Fort; grandchildren, Gemma Roy, Hunter Torres, Jewels Trull and Jonathon Sloan.nieces and nephews, Chris (Jennifer) Grant, of Marion, Brittany Grant of Cherokee, and Alexander (Eric) Archer, of Fayetteville.

Memorialization will be by cremation and the family will announce a memorial service at a later date.
