Myra Lee Sheffield

Born on September 25, 1941, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, Myra was the daughter of the late Ernest Robinson and Florence Chapman. She was a proud 1961 graduate of Salem High School.

Myra's greatest joy was found in making others happy, whether it was with a joke, a funny story, or a thoughtful gift. A loving wife (to the late Paul Robert Sheffield), mother and grandmother, she was never shy about sharing how proud she was of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She had a vibrant and adventurous spirit, enjoying a variety of hobbies from reading, drawing, and painting to being an active member of the local little theater community. Myra also had a love for motorcycles, traveling, white-water rafting, and music.

Myra's memory will be cherished by her son, Robert Sheffield (wife, Jayne); her daughter, Bonny Setzer (husband, Joe); her brother, Timothy Robinson; her sisters, Sherion Cook and Geraldine Bush; five grandchildren, Shon Sheffield, Shannon Burke, Elizabeth King, Joshua Sheffield, and Jonas Setzer; and one great-grandchild, Elijah King; and many cherished relatives and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Kirksey Funeral Home, 406 Lenoir Rd, Morganton, NC 28655. The family will receive friends for a visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:55 AM. Interment will follow the service at 2:30 PM at the Barrier Family Cemetery in the Jonas Ridge Community, NC.
