I met Pete when I was 13. He was always sweet, and loving to me and made sure my belly stayed full. Him and my mother Josie we’re together for a while. I became very close with Pete and spent a lot of my days and nights with him. I never felt alone when I had Pete. 27 years later Pete still always called, visited or checked on my four children and I. We became very close the last four months, I was happy to talk to him almost every day before he left this earth. I appreciate him for coming into our life it was a pleasure knowing him. He was the best step dad I could ask for. There will always be a hole in my heart because I truly love him, I am going to miss him 🖤

My heart is very heavy at the departure of my friend Pete Harshaw. During our teenage years, we became close friends and we hung out after Youth meetings and had lots of fun. Yes, Pete and Robert furnished us with transportation into both Morganton and Lenoir. The Vietnam War would soon cause us to part, but God brought both guys and many others back home while all of us still remained close in our hearts.. So long good-looking soldier It is our prayer to see you again in Heaven.

The most gentle and compassionate man I ever met in my lifetime. I loved him with all my heart. I will never forget him . A man so wonderful you can never forget. We had great times together. For now so long Pete but not goodbye. My only comfort knowing you are gone is no more long visits and stays at the doctor. No more pain. Thank you God for bringing him in my life Knowing Pete was knowing you loved me ❤️

I am so heartbroken at the passing of my dear dialysis buddy. I am so honored that this wonderful soul came into my life. I loved him dearly and his smile could light up my day. We will miss him here at the clinic and offer up prayers for his family and friends as they strive to deal with the grief that death brings. I will hold him forever in my heart as one of my truly special patients. Rest In Peace my friend.
