Ollie Bell Crooks

Ollie “Bell” Frye Crooks, age 89, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2019. Bell was born to the late Albert Frye and Adell Buchanan Frye on May 30, 1929 in Mitchell County, NC. Bell enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labor to share with others. She grew beautiful flowers. She had a love for children and family. Bell will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, Bell is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Cuba Crooks, Jr.; four brothers and five sisters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include two daughters, Johnnie Sue Webb of Burke County, Debbie Hipps and her husband Johnny of Nebo; a brother Jim Frye of TN; a sister, Vista Regan of PA; a grandson Ben Campbell and His wife Becca; and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. Entombment in Burke Memorial Park’s Mausoleum will follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
