Robert Lewis Davis Jr.

Robert was born on February 18, 1957 to Robert and Irene Davis, of Morganton, NC. He was the eldest of three children. He was a graduate of Freedom High School. Robert known as “Jack” to most of his family and friends was a gentle giant. Shortly after graduating from high school, he became a member of the United States Army. He served honorably for 20 years as a Military Policeman, a Combat Medic, and Emergency Medical Technician. He served two overseas tours in Germany and deployed to Desert Storm. He was also stationed stateside at Ft. Rucker, AL, Ft. Bragg, NC, Ft. Sam Houston, TX, Ft. McClellan, AL, and retired at Ft. Knox, KY. After his military service, he returned to Morganton and worked for the NC Department of Prisons.

Robert was loved by many and is survived by his wife (Luci) Lucila Davis, his son, Gabriel, and his daughter, Nicole. He was blessed to have three beautiful grandchildren, LaKaiya Anae, Hezakiah and D’Marius. He is also survived by his two loving sisters, Kim and Sharon, two uncles, Francis G. Baker and Edgar Baker, and two aunts, four brothers in love and one beautiful sister in love, Maria, 17 nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends, all who loved him very much.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Kirksey Funeral Home, 406 Lenoir Road, Morganton, NC 28655. A funeral celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, with the Pastor Thomas Davis, Rev. Doug Cuthbertson and Pastor Wesley Hendrix.

Repass will follow after service at New Bethel Baptist Church 518 Valdese Avenue, Morganton NC at 3:30PM.
