

Our Alpha and Omega, dispatched an Angel on September 5, 2011 to welcome home Mrs. Ruth Ann Hayden Corpening, after 90 years here on earth. She was born April 6, 1921, the third born to the late George W. Hayden and the late Francis Ann Brown Hayden. In addition to her parents, her husband, June Corpening, an infant daughter, four brothers, Frank, James, Edward and George Alfred Hayden, four sisters, Katherine Hayden, Mary H. Surratt, Viola H. Hartsaw and Evelyn H. Poole, preceded her in death. She was a member of the St. John Holiness Church and a former member of the Spiritual Choir and of the Usher Board. She was Saved and Baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ under the leadership of Pastor Lollie Hill. She was employed at the Morganton Grill for several years as a cook and later was employed at Drexel Furniture Company, until her retirement.
Her loving memory will continue in the hearts of her brother, Mr. Cleveland Hayden and her sister, Mrs. Marie H. Rutherford, both of Morganton;
Also remembering her are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, September 9, 2011, at the St. John Church of God Ministries with Suffagon Bishop Gilbert Gooden officiating. Interment will follow at the Burke Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the Church.
