I'm shocked and saddened by this terrible and sudden loss. I taught with Ruth during my first year at EMMS and came to respect and value her as a colleague. When I needed help with anything and I'd put out a question to the whole staff, she was always the teacher who would respond with helpful advice. She always volunteered and went above and beyond. She had high expectations for her students and she went out of her way to help certain students who were obviously struggling. You could tell she was always aiming higher and trying to improve herself and others. Her absence will be a blow to our staff, but her spirit will inspire us to do the best that we can during these trying times.
Rest in Peace Dear Ruth, and Condolences to her family.
Love, Courtenay Constable and Family

I taught with Ruth for 13 years. She was dedicated to her family, students, church, friends, and community. She was a kind person that will be greatly missed. I remember clearly the first day I met her at Nebo. In the years we taught 6th grade together, we shared many tears and lots of laughter. Some how she always seemed to win those drawings at staff meals. I am happy she was recognized for all of her hard work when she was voted teacher of the year by her peers at EMMS. A well deserved honor.

Todd and Phillip, I am very sorry for your loss. I know she meant more to you than anyone else. Lean on each other in these difficult times as well as your family and friends. Phillip, I know your mother loved you very much and was so proud of you. She never missed an opportunity to share your important moments. Remember the good times and play her a song every once in a while, she would love that.

Ruth, you have now heard those words we all long to hear one day, "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master." Mathew 25:21

Todd and Phillip, so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear wife and mother. She was a great teacher and loved by her students. I knew her due to her love of running and staying physically fit. May God give you the strength and courage for the days ahead. We will continue to keep you in our prayers.

Mrs. Pershing was my 6th grade English Language Art teacher. She was always a bright loving and caring woman. Her bright smile welcomed me every morning as soon as I walked through that door. I was blessed to have her as my homeroom teacher the first year I entered EMMS. God gained one beautiful and amazing angel. Her family will be in my thoughts and prayers. You will be missed!

Mrs.Pershing was my 6th grade teacher, along with my absolute favorite. She was a great person, and a great educator. She taught me so much while in her English class, and so much about life. I’m so grateful that I got the opportunity to meet such a wonderful person, may she Rest In Peace.
