

Mrs. Sarah Clontz Small Woody, 79, of Morganton, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 31, 2012, while at Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC. Born June 10, 1932, in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Ivey Small and Bertie Clontz Small. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woody was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Woody Vail. Mrs. Woody was a member of the North Morganton Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crochet, knitting and needlepoint crafts.
Mrs. Woody is survived by her husband, Paul B. Woody, of the home;
Two sons, Paul Brian Woody, of Fayetteville, NC and Mark Woody, of Morganton;
A son-in-law, Michael Vail, of Morganton;
Two granddaughters, Lisa Herman Davis of whom she raised as a daughter, & her husband, Tommy, of Connelly Springs and Lori Callahan Hawkins & husband, Chris, of Morganton;
A step-granddaughter, Amanda Reynolds, of Forest City;
A step-grandson, Shawn Vail & wife, Deana, of Myrtle Beach, SC;
Seven great grandchildren, Kurt Herman, Gracie and Claire Hawkins, all of Morganton and Eric and Ethan Fox and Hannah Davis, all of Connelly Springs and Jacob Herman, of the home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton, with the Reverend Jim Taber officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the Funeral Home.
